point level detection part 4 - Reliable level measurement with steam boiler approval

VEGA engineers Stefan Kaspar and Matthias Schmidt tackle the tricky topic of water level measurement in steam boilers. Process temperatures in excess of 300°C and pressure up to 200bar demands special measurement techniques, and Stefan and Matthias demonstrate the use of the Vegaflex 86 guided wave radar sensor, which has a special probe for steam compensation. This is combined with the Vegaswing 66 vibrating probe level switch to provide a complete solution with steam boiler approval.
