Clamp or hold small parts, tools, Allen keys, door keys and other items with these strong, handy magnets. Use for holding gates open or shut and many similar purposes.
The name ‘Pot’ Magnet has become part of the magnet vocabulary for obscure reasons (probably because they traditionally use a magnet core empotted within a steel cup, using an epoxy resin or other medium).
Pot magnets are simple, shallow, two-pole magnets using a circular ring of Ferrite or Neodymium (Rare Earth) as a core, housed in a soft iron or steel cup. The steel cup conducts one of the poles to the rim, forming a North-South air-gap between the rim and the core. A centre pole can be added to form a second air-gap, providing even greater holding power.
