Norman G. Clark - For many years, MEROBEL has consolidated its position as the leader in EMP Brake & Clutch technology and associated electronics, especially for Wire &Cable and Web tension control, as well as variable torque simulation on test rigs.
Today MEROBEL is a specialised division of REDEX ANDANTEX, which employs more than 300 people allover the world.
MEROBEL is at the heart of a large network of agents, regularly trained to the highest standards and the latest of its technology, including four subsidiaries of REDEX ANDANTEX located in France, United Kingdom, Italy, and the USA.
The EMP powder reactsto the variation of a magnetic field generated by an electromagnetic coil. Varying the powder's "viscosity" leads to the control of the torque transmission between the primary and the secondary rotors.
When the secondary rotor is fixed to the equipment frame, the device is acting as a brake, otherwise it's acting as a clutch.
Features of FAT- FRAT- FVRAT- FVAT- FRATO - Brakes
The torque is proportional to the electric current, the torque is independent of slip speed torque repeat ability
Benefits of FAT- FRAT- FVRAT- FVAT- FRATO - Brakes
- Low Power Consumption
- Easy Installation
- Quiet Operation
- No Dust
Based on the same universal and robust design, these EMP through shaft brakes offer up to 5 different heat dissapation levels.
