What are Propylene Glycol and Ethylene Glycol? Well they’re available for sale at Summit Matsu Chillers in both small and large quantities!

In February 2006, Summit Matsu Chillers (Summit Matsu) created their own brand of Propylene glycol and ethylene glycol in order to further expand and add value to the water and glycol chillers that were already available for sale.

Propylene glycol and ethylene glycol still can be ordered for purchase from Summit Matsu Chillers in a choice of large or small amounts that can be delivered as soon as overnight across Australia.

Glycol is used by Summit Matsu as an antifreeze ingredient which prevents the low temperature chiller appliances from freezing. Similar properties of Propylene glycol and Ethylene glycol are that they are both colourless, almost odourless, sweet tasting organic compounds. One significant difference is that ethylene glycol is more of a toxic compound that can be dangerous if ingested and possibly result in death, whereas propylene glycol is considered non toxic although minor side effects have been noted if care isn’t taken but none the less it has been deemed as safe to use in the food industry. Ethylene glycol therefore can be used in any other industry asides from food because of its toxic properties.

As a result of increased customer requests for ethylene glycol and propylene glycol in smaller quantities than traditionally is supplied on the Australian market, Summit Matsu has found it to be a valuable addition to their product range. Previously suppliers would only deliver the compounds in 200 L quantities however Matsu will supply amounts as small as 10 litres.

The release of these products has enriched Summit Matsu’s range of chilling products and fulfilled their plans to service and maintain the chillers.
