Treotham Automation Acquires Components Side of Numericon

Components supplier to industry, Treotham Automation, has expanded ts list of products by acquiring strategic lines of longstanding motion control specialist, Numericon.

Numericon, headed by original owner Mr Neil Matthews who retired from the business, originally was established in the 1970s when the company began a specialised service for numerical control equipment but couldn’t buy components of that type in Australia.

Hence, Numericon became an importer of various product lines, of which the component specific lines will be acquired by Treotham.

Managing Director of Treotham Automation, Mr Mikael Paltoft, says these new product lines have expand Treotham’s push into all the industrial markets.

“Numericon had been distributing a selection of component lines that represent excellent additions to what we already are selling,” said Mr Paltoft.

“Because these are established brands, and our company has a good reputation in industrial circles, the match is ideal and will work for us.”

Products included in the acquisition are as follows:

* Alpha Getribebau precision planetary gearboxes
* Euchner switches
* Diell photoelectric and proximity switches
* Moog AC brushless server motors and drives
* Tekel optical encoders
* Neff linear actuators
* CMC DC servo motors
* Peerless Electric DC servo motors and gearboxes
* Elgo Electric counters and magnetic length measuring systems

“Numericon has done an excellent job managing the introduction and maintenance of these product lines in Australia, and now it is up to our company to supply the motion control market with the majority of its component,” said Mr Paltoft.
