SEW-Eurodrive tees-off for charity

SEW-Eurodrive’s annual charity golf day and dinner auction has raised $108,375 for the Mental Illness Fellowship (MIF) of Victoria.

Over the past 12 years, SEW-Eurodrive has raised over $1.5 million in donations in support of the MIF, as well as raising awareness of mental illness.

The charity golf day, attended by more than 120 golf enthusiasts and volunteers, included 18-holes at the Greg Norman-designed Sanctuary Lakes Golf Course in Melbourne.

Despite heavy rain, the golfers teed-off for a day of competition, with winning honours going to SEW-Eurodrive’s Managing Director, Robert Merola and his team – the first time in the charity golf day’s 13-year history.

The dinner auction, hosted by Marty Fields from the Channel 9 TV show Hey Hey It’s Saturday, was held at Melbourne’s Tabcorp Park. Guests were entertained by the band Essential featuring guest vocalist and 2006 Australian Idol finalist, Ricky Muscat.

Merola presented a cheque to MIF, acknowledging their hard work and dedication in assisting Victorian’s dealing with mental illness.
