They say time is money. The Lencrow Group has proven this to be true by investing in technology that streamlines paperwork processes for their service fleet and provides the added benefit of secondary records for customers.
Record management on the road has traditionally been a haphazard process with paper logs and records that organisations “hope” service technicians will maintain effectively.
In the real world however this is not always done, adding to the costs of administering and maintaining compulsory records.
Lencrow has found a way to eliminate this problem by investing in IVT (In Van Technology) in its field service vans.
Danny Bell, service manager for Lencrow Group, is impressed with its ability to not only scan parts, but also supervise the location of individual vans via GPS tracking.
“The efficiency of IVT via its tracking mechanism is great for our service fleet enabling them to be directly responsive to customers, Bell says.
“It allows us to respond according to location dispatching the closet unit to effect urgent repairs.”
While on the road spare parts can be scanned with the details linked directly to a back-to-base system. Knowing what parts are available while on a job and having instant access to this data is critical for timely repairs.
Lencrow believes the new technology is a “win/win” for themselves and their customers.
The units streamline paperwork, allow for quicker repairs, maintenance cycles and OHS compliance.
Lencrow plans to roll out IVT across all its service fleets nationally this year.
