Focus on engineering at Qld Safety Show

The Queensland Safety Show returns to the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre from June 21 to 23 with two new features: the Qld Manufacturing Show and expert seminars dealing with the new work health and safety laws.

Organisers are expecting more than 5000 trade visitors and industry professionals to visit the co-located trade shows hosting over 200 exhibiting companies.

The Queensland Manufacturing Show will showcase the latest technologies in CAD/CAM software, programming systems and general industrial engineering products when it debuts at the co-located Queensland Safety Show.

Marie Kinsella, managing director of Australian Exhibitions & Conferences Pty Ltd, says the co-location of the Queensland Manufacturing Show with the established Safety Show will benefit both exhibitors and trade show visitors.

“Since the launch of the Queensland Safety Show in June 2006, it has become obvious that there is a gap in the market, leaving engineering and process professionals without a forum to keep up to date with the latest technologies for their workplace,” Ms Kinsella says.

“The Queensland Manufacturing Show will offer thousands of visitors the opportunity to make face to face contact with major suppliers of the latest technologies available, as well as keeping up to date with work health and safety requirements.”

Show organisers say the comprehensive array of safety solutions is particularly appealing to industry.

“In a few hours under one roof, visitors can find controls for almost any workplace risk and update themselves on the latest technology,” says Marie Kinsella.

“There’s plenty to see, from alcohol and drug testing, breathing apparatus and corporate health right through to vehicle safety. It’s a big job for OHS professionals just to keep up with new safety products and a large dedicated work health and safety event like this makes it so much easier.”

Complementing the products and services, the Queensland Safety Show will offer a line-up of practical free manufacturing and workplace safety seminars.
