Clark Equipment spreads its wings in Qld

Clark Equipment has opened a new outlet at Cairns in far north Queensland.

The Cairns branch will allow Clark to better support the North Queensland market.

“This is our eighth branch location in Qld”, said managing director Robert Hammond.

“It signals our commitment to regional markets and the importance they have in
helping to grow our business. Cairns has been a traditionally strong market, and while
the local economy in Cairns is currently facing difficult times, we want people to know that we will be building on the strong presence that Clark Forklifts already have”.

Clark Equipment has agreed to buy certain assets from Lift and Shift Machinery Sales Pty Ltd, a former Clark Equipment dealer.

Clark’s Northern Region general manager, Steve Goodall will oversee the new branch. Paul Roche will be responsible for branch operations and Guy Frankland will be responsible for equipment sales.

Clark Equipment has offered all Lift and Shift staff positions, and will assume warranty
obligations and honour customer deposits.

Cairns, located about 1700km north of Brisbane, has a population of 160,000.

Its strong growth over recent years has been driven by tourism, and the region
also boasts a healthy agricultural market (primarily sugar cane) and access to rail and
shipping facilities.

Clark Equipment is a BRW Top 500 Private Company employing 500 people and
operating from more than 20 locations across Australia and NZ.
