Australian Pump Industries have announced an upgrade of their popular bronze marine pump range! The new bronze Aussies feature NIAL BZ castings for all major components.
“Upgrading from zinc free bronze to nickel aluminium bronze represents a virtual ‘Mil Spec’ configuration,” said Aussie Pumps’ Product Manager Brad Farrugia. “The material change means significantly improved longevity for pumps operating in tropical or sub tropical sea water applications,” he said.
The new Aussie GMP NIAL bronze pumps are available as 2”, 3” and 4” versions. They can be used in a wide range of applications on fishing vessels, tugs, ferries and other commercial craft.
With flows of up to 2,200 litres per minute, and heads to 50 metres, the pumps are all self priming with the ability to draft water from 6 metre vertical depths. This enables them to operate as very effective bilge, fire or water transfer pumps.
The new NIAL pumps feature a wide range of optional seals including silicon carbide and tungsten. These ‘hard’ seals are sometimes fitted where the pumps are required to handle sand or silt laden water. All of the pumps are fitted with open style impellers, and easy to remove suction cover plates to make servicing simple.
Australian Pump offers these pumps as either electric motor or engine drive configurations, or as a bare shaft version. Bare shaft pumps can be long coupled to engines or to an engine PTO drive. An electrically operated centrifugal clutch kit is also available. Hydraulic power pack drive versions are also available.
“The pumps are ideal for all sea water duties” said Farrugia. “Maintenance is reduced because of their improved corrosion resistance and they prime first time, every time,” he said.
Aussie GMP bronze pumps have successfully been awarded DNV certification and are in use in a wide range of applications in commercial fishing, work and charter boats.
The company is proud of the ‘Bronze Aussie’ range and its selection for service on naval patrol boats and offshore oil ring support vessels.
