CGB Precision Products has introduced bottle-capping technology from Magnetic Technologies Ltd.
Hysteresis vs synchronous design
Most magnetic capping heads today are synchronous design, using two sets of opposed magnets to achieve the desired torque. The result is a noisy ratcheting effect. Magnetic Technologies’ specialty is the smooth hysteresis design.
Magnetic Technologies has been designing and building hysteresis clutches since 1984. First, they fit the highest quality Sm2Co17 magnets to a stainless steel rotor and grind them to exacting tolerances.
Next, the rotor is packaged into a cast and ground hysteresis cylinder. Finally, the entire assembly is protected by a choice of anodised aluminium or stainless housing.
Advantages of hysteresis
Capping heads will provide years of long life because of the hysteresis design and the meticulous grinding and potting of the magnets with protective epoxy. They are incredibly smooth and accurate so they can be run 24/7. They are the most cost effective capping heads for today's quick change demanding environment.
Features and benefits:
* Torque range from .23Nm to 2.71Nm (2” to 24” pounds)
* Hysteresis, not synchronous design
* No electricity or slip rings
* Smooth, constant torque with no friction parts to wear out
* Vernier type, tool free torque adjust
* Aluminium or stainless steel design
* Custom OEM versions available.
Magnetic Technologies’ only business is manufacturing magnetic brakes and clutches.
