‘Reel’ commitment to mining and manufacturing

In the first half of 2009, during the depths of the GFC, Conductix-Wampfler showed its commitment to the Australian mining and manufacturing industry by expanding its primary manufacturing facility in Melbourne.

This expansion followed soon after a relocation of the Conductix-Wampfler Western
Australian operations to larger premises in Perth’s Maddington, where products are warehoused and assembled.

For almost 50 years Conductix-Wampfler has been engineering and manufacturing solutions for customers wanting to deliver power and control to moving machines in Australia.

The company has engineered many heavy duty festoons, cable reel and cable chain solutions for stackers, reclaimers, shiploaders and tripper conveyors.

Most recently Conductix-Wampfler has been manufacturing cable and hose reels for new Stackers for Worsley Alumina being constructed by F. L. Smidth.

“The expansion of our factory has enabled us to manufacture these four reels to the exacting and quite specific standards demanded by the customer, while maintaining our manufacturing efficiency, said Mark Howlett, Conductix-Wampfler’s Managing Director.

“Our expanded Perth facility also provides the customer with greater options of having some assembly or final inspection performed locally, he said.

“With engineering, steel welding, general manufacturing, electrical fitting and testing all performed within our Australian organization, we are in a strong position to offer customers high quality customized solutions.”
