The Chromacity 520 ultra-fast laser system, available in Australia through Scitech, provides more than 500mW in the visible region. It is an air-cooled, compact, ultra-fast ytterbium fibre laser delivering exceptional performance with turnkey operation. It provides a fixed 520nm output at a power of 500mW-1W and is essentially a frequency-doubled version of the Chromacity 1040, the company’s flagship 1040nm laser.

The system also provides the option to deliver dual output at 520 and 1040nm from a single unit and is an ideal source for a wide range of non-linear optics, microscopy and spectroscopy applications. It delivers a pulse width of less than 250fs, which makes it ideally suited to a wide range of photonics and imaging applications. It is an ideal solution for pumping optical parametric oscillators or driving other non-linear processes (for example, second-harmonic generation and supercontinuum generation).

As the absorption characteristics of many materials are significantly higher at 520nm, the Chromacity 520 can deliver benefits within the micromachining sector, for techniques such as 2-photon polymerisation and 3D printing. The standard model operates at a pulse repetition frequency of 100MHz, making it easy to integrate with a range of diagnostic equipment. An intuitive web-based user interface allows for easy control, which means the system can be operated remotely.
