TREOTHAM LAUNCHES NEXT GENERATION SAFETY CONTROLLERS

17-01-2015

With a width of only 45mm, the Samos Pro Compact safety controller from Treotham Automation is suitable for universal use by offering safety for all kinds of machine and industrial applications.

The compact module significantly reduces (logistics) outlay and simplifies safety and is complemented by the new graphic programming tool Samos PLAN5+, a free software that makes programming simple, safer and flexible.

The compact module comes with 16 safe inputs, four safe outputs, four safe configurable inputs/outputs and an exchangeable 512Mb program memory.

The SD memory card is very easy to handle, thus saving time during commissioning, copying and in case service is required, and a library of certified, powerful function blocks is available for programming the system using the Samos PLAN5+ software.

Integrated USB and Ethernet interfaces enable system access at any time. Industrial Ethernet protocols are integrated from the beginning, and other additional gateway for fieldbuses makes integration into a wide variety of industrial networks simple and straightforward.

Perfect for a range of industries, Samos Pro Compact is powerful and can also be used under harsh ambient conditions thanks to its switching capacity of 4 A at every single output of the system and a temperature range of -25°C to +65°C.

A small module designed for big machines, Samos Pro Compact features modular expandability for up to 168 safe inputs and outputs and to ensure safe operation of the system, all inputs and outputs feature unambiguously assigned visual displays, which clearly indicate the operating status at any moment.

The Samos Pro Compact module meets all the relevant safety standards, including SIL CL 3 according to EN 62061 and PL e / category 4 according to EN ISO 13849-1.
