TERMINAL CONNECTORS REWRITE THE RULES FOR HARNESS ASSEMBLY

The Molex MUO 2.5 series of terminal connectors from RS Components replace closed-end terminals to speed harness assembly while improving quality, reliability and processing.

The MUO 2.5 connectors simplify the termination process by eliminating tangled wires. Typical applications that can benefit from these devices include equipment such as air conditioners, fan heaters, floor-heating and HVAC systems, as well as other appliances such as refrigerators and washing machines, or anywhere terminations are required.

The traditional closed-end termination of connectors typically requires skilled workers and needs extra steps for crimping – a process that is prone to poor application and requires post-assembly QA checks. Crimping also requires manual sorting, which may lead to damage of the assembly or other quality issues.

Closed-end terminations are typically performed early in the assembly process. In comparison, the MUO 2.5 termination process can be set up at any stage of the production workflow.

The MUO 2.5 connectors have two separated retainers to protect cables and secure the terminal position, which also prevent wire entanglement and eliminate electrical-shock hazards; and a simple water-exhaust function prevents water ingress.

The Molex MUO 2.5 termination connectors are shipping now from RS in the Asia Pacific region.
