TEMPERATURE MONITORING IMPROVES QUALITY AND REDUCES COSTS

Storing temperature-sensitive products in a high-temperature environment for too long, for example after harvest or in refrigeration equipment that has failed, can impact their shelf life and quality, but more importantly cause food safety issues.
To avoid this, wireless sensors are used to monitor goods in a wide range of temperature-controlled environments throughout the supply chain, from manufacturer to consumer.
The EpiSensor TES-2X is a fully wireless, accurate probe temperature sensor for use in environmental monitoring and energy management applications. It records temperature data at regular intervals and makes it available to users via EpiSensor’s Gateway. Single (TES-21) and dual probe (TES-22) versions are available.
The sensor is housed in a rugged waterproof polycarbonate enclosure so it can be deployed in a wide range of harsh environments. The internal lithium battery is designed to last up to 10 years at 30 minute reporting intervals, after which it can be replaced by the user.
EpiSensor’s IIoT platform for refrigeration monitoring powers applications that provide real-time visibility of the condition and performance of refrigeration systems by tracking the temperature of fresh and frozen produce to improve quality, increase energy efficiency and reduce food waste and costs.
EpiSensor monitoring systems enable users to make more informed decisions, preventing problems before they happen. They uniquely combine enterprise-class security, scalability and ruggedness with ease of installation, allowing customer sites to be reached more quickly.
The system is fully mobile, so it can be moved from site to site to calibrate existing equipment. Each sensor can be individually field-calibrated to maintain best-in-class accuracy, all done remotely via Gateway’s web interface or application programming interface.
The self-healing ZigBee wireless mesh technology ensures that the network can adapt to changing environments, such as a chilled warehouse that’s gradually filled during the day.
