SULPHUR-FREE GROMMETS PRESERVE LED LIGHTING

17-02-2020

While LED light sources are acknowledged as being massively more energy efficient compared with fluorescent or incandescent lights, they are also more sensitive to certain substances. In particular, sulphur can have an adverse effect by reacting with the silver in the LED and shortening its lifespan.

Available now from Treotham, TSS grommets by TST are manufactured from TPE and are highly recommended for manufacturers of LED luminaires, as no sulphur is added in the raw-material production process nor is it likely to be generated during the product manufacturing process.

The TSS grommet has been very well received within the lighting industry not only because of the material, but also because of its attractive design, features and flexibility.

Like other TST products, the TSS has a pop-out membrane, leaving a sealed and waterproof installation until it is penetrated by a cable. It can also be used as an end-plug and is one of very few that is approved for IP67 applications.

The TSS is extremely flexible and handles a very wide range of cable diameters. And as the material is soft it is ideal to use on curved surfaces, as it will adapt to the shape of the surface.
