optoNCDT 1420 smart displacement sensor

Available now from Bestech Australia, the optoNCDT 1420 smart displacement sensor is ideal for demanding environments such as food and process manufacturing.

All the signal processing circuitry is housed within the sensor body, and so it requires no external controller, making it easy to install even in the most restricted spaces. And with a weight of just 60g, it is suitable for dynamic acceleration tasks, for example on individual machine axes or robot arms.

The sensor features a high-performance lens that generates an extremely small light spot size, which enables reliable detection of even the very smallest of target objects. It also features automatic target compensation to provide stable measurement results regardless of changing surface colours or brightness.

The sensor is controlled using an extended web interface, with adjustable intuitive settings available for various measurement tasks. A quality slider allows easy and quick adaptation between static and dynamic processes.

Specifications include a measurement range from 10 to 500mm, linearity from 8µm, reproducibility from 0.5µm and a measurement frequency of 4kHz.
