SEW-EURODRIVE, a global leader in motors, drives and gear units, will sponsor Michelangelo: The Exhibition in its first ever national tour from March this year.

The exhibition, which showcases Michelangelo as the sculptor, the painter and the architect, features full-scale sculpture replicas made from the casts of Michelangelo's originals statues.

Outside of Italy, these can only be seen together at the Victoria & Albert Museum, London.

The exhibition will also feature a fully equipped Renaissance artist’s workshop.

SEW-EURODRIVE Managing Director, Robert Merola said: “Michelangelo Buonarroti was not only a brilliant painter, but also a brilliant sculptor and architect.

“It is always the exceptional achievements of individual thinkers with ingenious ideas and clever decisions that drive advancements.”

The exhibition has been created by the acclaimed Artisans of Florence: International, in collaboration with The Niccolai Group and Muri Dell’Arte (Italy).

Michelangelo: The Exhibition debuts at the Burnie Regional Art Gallery, Burnie Tasmania from March 12 – May 22.
