Rugged Android tablet

It’s a bold boast, but Interworld Electronics reckons that the RTC-700M rugged tablet computer will change the way people work with mobile PCs. It’s certainly rugged, as it has been designed to meet both IP65 and MIL-STD 810G standards, making it highly resistant to moisture, dust, shock and vibration.

The RTC-700M is an Android tablet based on the TI OMAP 4470 1.5GHz dual core processor with 1Gbyte of LPDDR2 memory. A bright (400nit) 7-inch 1280 x 800 LCD with a capacitive multi-touch screen provides the user interface. Onboard communications include WLAN 802.11b/g, Bluetooth and an optional 3G modem module.

Additional I/O includes a Mini-USB port, Mini-HDMI port and a micro SD Card slot. Built-in features include a rear 5Mpixel camera, a g-sensor, a light sensor, an e-compass, GPS navigation, speaker and microphone. A high-capacity high-performance Li-polymer battery promises a long 8h operating life.

The RTC-700M is supplied with the Android 5.1 operating system.
