A QUICK WAY TO CREATE CUSTOMISED WEAR-RESISTANT PARTS

20-08-2019

In order to quickly supply and install the right plain bearing solution at all times, Treotham stocks many different igus iglidur tribo-polymer plain bearings. But sometimes customers demand components that are not in the catalogue. In such cases, igus manufactures customised parts using various methods.

igus determines the type of production according to the required quantity. For batches of more than 500 pieces, the in-house tool manufacturer constructs application-related moulds made of steel, which are then used in injection moulding machines. For batches of less than 500, it offers another solution via its speedigus production service. This service is divided into the speedimold, speedicut and speedifit divisions and a 3D printing service, according to the method that is most suitable for a particular application. In this video, igus Vice-President New Business Development Gerhard Baus explains what is possible with the different methods.
