Nilfisk recently completed the acquisition of Smithson Equipment, a Queensland based cleaning equipment distributor located in the Brisbane suburb of Tingalpa.

Smithson Equipment offers sales, service and hire of new and used cleaning equipment – specializing in industrial sweepers, scrubbers, pressure cleaners and vacuums.

The acquisition combines the strengths of Nilfisk and Smithson Equipment, by leveraging Nilfisk’s global network and resources and Smithson Equipment’s local industry expertise to deliver on cleaning equipment, parts and service to customers.

Nilfisk will continue to provide quality Nilfisk equipment to customers as well as continue to provide a service offering on all brands of cleaning equipment.

“Smithson Equipment’s team has done an excellent job of building a successful operation that provides premium service to a loyal customer base in QLD, said Jim Athanas, Managing Director of Nilfisk Australia and New Zealand.

“Nilfisk Australia and Smithson Equipment share a strong customer focus, and we are very excited by the prospects ahead.

“Combining the companies’ global and local strengths will help us continue to deliver sustainable and cost effective cleaning solutions to industry, and improve service to our existing distributors with a strong local state office”.

The acquisition took effect from May 1.

In business for over 100 years, Nilfisk is one of the world’s leading suppliers of professional cleaning equipment.

Headquartered in Denmark, Nilfisk has sales companies and manufacturing factories in over 45 countries around the globe.
