For many Aussie manufacturers, 2013 has been an “annus horribilis.”
A persistently high Australian dollar, combined with a gloomy global economy and months of political turmoil and uncertainty, put a large dent in consumer confidence.
But all the signs are now pointing to a much brighter year ahead.
According to the latest business surveys Australians are more positive about our economy following the Federal election and optimism is on the rise.
And for the first time in more than two years manufacturing activity expanded in September – a positive sign we have now turned the corner.
Does manufacturing have a future in Australia? Absolutely.
Manufacturing employs nearly 1 million people – and the new Abbott Government has recognized its contribution to the economy. But though manufacturing has been under intense pressure during the past year, I am pleased to report that Industry Update continues to defy the trend.
Despite the tough year, we have continued to grow.
Industry Update publishes at least two record-breaking editions each year.
And we proudly published our biggest ever edition in June to celebrate our 18th birthday. We are looking forward to another positive year ahead.
Industry Update Magazine now has a national circulation of 19,000 and a massive readership of 76,000 – mainly key decision makers. Our readership, presentation, outstanding editorial mix of news, information and products are all key elements to the publication’s success and continued growth.
Our growth can also be largely attributed to our loyal advertisers, some of whom have been with us since Day One.
We sincerely thank you for your continued support, which has helped Industry Update to firmly cement its position as market leader in Australian manufacturing.
