Equipment used in the industries of oil & gas, construction and mining are pushing the limits of hydraulic design with the need for more power and at greater speeds.
To safely handle the higher pressure, high impulse applications is not easy and often 2-inch rigid pipe needs to be utilised.
This is now changing with the release of new 2” (-32) diameter, 6000psi hose with a matching one-piece no-skive coupling series from Gates Australia.
The Gates MegaSpiral hydraulic hose and coupling series offers a combination of technology, performance and flexibility.
Hoses are tested to 1 million impulse cycles – double the SAE requirement.
They are conducted at tighter bend radii, up to one third the minimum SAE bend radius.
The greater flexibility and improved bend radii can save you up to 47 per cent on hose assembly costs.
The 2” diameter, Environmentally Friendly Global, 6000psi, constant pressure hose (32EFG6K) is designed with high tensile steel and nitrile tube for use with biodegradable hydraulic fluids and vegetable oils as well as standard petroleum-based fluids.
The hose is available with the MegaTuff abrasion resistant cover. This increases service life, as well as lowering maintenance and replacement costs by protecting the hose from cuts, friction caused by other moving parts and from mechanical impacts.
To match with the 32EFG6K hose, Gates has released a new coupling series, the Gates Spiral Maximum (GSM) coupling. This is for use on 32EFG6K and other Gates high pressure, 6-spiral wire hoses with inside diameters of 1½ inches or more.
The GSM coupling is one piece, meaning no separate ferrule, less inventory, and delivers 1 million impulse cycles performance with no-skive convenience.
The no-skive, one piece coupling makes for easier and safer hose assemblies.
