Gates appoints new MD

Gates has announced the appointment of Carl McGowan to the role of Managing Director, Gates Australia Pty Ltd.

Mr McGowan will be responsible for the Gates Australia commercial organisation, sales, marketing and customer support teams.

He will provide local leadership and oversee the distribution facilities owned by our Gates global operations. He will also be responsible for New Zealand and the Engineering and Services division in Perth, WA.

Mr McGowan has more than 26 years of industry knowledge and experience. He previously worked for Parker Hannifin in roles that have seen him working within Fluid Power, Automation and Fluid Connector divisions. 

More recently he has fulfilled the role of Country Managing Director for Australasia, Parker Hannifin.

Gates is a premier supplier of power transmission and fluid power products.

Gates products and services are focused on customers in five key end market segments.

This includes automotive (light auto), transportation (heavy duty segment), energy/exploration/extraction (mining, oil and gas), infrastructure and agriculture, and process and specialty (industrial, recreation and other).
