FACTORY AUTOMATION HUB POWERED BY INTEL

Shop floors looking for a hands-off approach are in luck, with iBase’s new MAF800 Intel-based industrial grade AI Computer Series now available from Backplane Systems Technology.
Machine vision and factory automation facilities can now automate shop floor processes and defect inspection processes thanks to the MAF800’s deep learning abilities. Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) or Vision-Guided Robotics (VGR) allow the modular MAF800 series to handle intricate assembly with speed and accuracy beyond what’s manually possible.
At the heart of the MAF800 base model beats a high performance 8th generation Intel® Core™ i7-8700 processor. The compact, fanless design houses three GigE LAN ports and six USB 3.0 ports for extensive connectivity and easy integration in Multi-Camera Machine Vision applications.
The MAF800 family also includes the MAF800-E, MAF800-2£ and MAF800-L2E, which are built with a SUMIT module that comprises four PoE ports and a serial port module. The 2E and L2E models offer room for additional I/O expansion, with a PCIe slot for I/O control cards, a PCIe(x16) slot that allows for graphics cards needed to perform AI tasks in real time, and an M.2/mPCIe slot for M.2 AI, WiFi and Profibus cards.
A 9V~36V wide-range DC input powers the MAF800, with a 12V DC input to power additional graphics cards or PoE modules. Key features of the MAF800 series include an operation temperature range of -10°C up to 50°C, 2x SATA 3.0, a DVI-D, and a VGA display interface. It runs on both Windows 10 and Linux Ubuntu operating systems.
