The tna intelli-date 5 is a high-speed thermal transfer overprint date coder for food packaging lines. The unit has an airless design and comes with integrated print code verification technology for continuous high-quality printing on flexible bags.

Part of tna’s performance 5.0 ultra-high-speed production concept, the intelli-date 5 features ultra-fast printhead movement that boosts throughput by up to 25% compared with previous models.

The unit does not require any compressed air and provides more precise printhead pressure for consistently high-quality prints. The lack of pneumatics reduces the need for operator intervention and maintenance, and the date coder’s unique printhead can be changed in less than 30 seconds, maximising production uptime.

The integrated iAssure technology brings the unit real-time image processing capabilities that detect common print defects, including those caused by ribbon creases, overprints or worn print surfaces. Any mismatch between the intended and the captured image is identified on the spot, triggering an alert to minimise waste and reduce downtime.

The intelli-date 5 was specifically designed to seamlessly integrate into tna’s robag series of high-speed vertical form fill and seal packaging systems. This also includes the ultra-high speed tna robag 5, where the tna intelli-date 5 date coder enables speeds of up to 300 bags per minute, transforming production line efficiencies by more than doubling the industry’s current average packaging speeds within a single, fully integrated and highly compact packaging solution.
