COMPACT SLEWING RING BEARINGS SAVE SPACE, WEIGHT AND COSTS

High cycle rates and loads, for example, in welding systems, indexing tables or the packaging industry, are extremely demanding for slewing rings. In order to withstand this, Treotham has been offering slide-supported igus slewing ring bearings in its product range for 15 years.
Between the inner and outer bearing rings of aluminium or stainless steel is a maintenance-free sliding element of high-performance iglidur J plastic, ensuring that friction and wear are minimised without the use of lubrication. The element withstands a maximum surface pressure of 35 MPa. In addition, Treotham has FDA and ESD-compliant versions with no minimum order quantity.
igus has now developed its PRT-04 range so that users can use slewing ring bearings even in compact installation spaces with medium loads. They are up to 50 per cent smaller in installation height and up to 60 per cent lighter than the PRT-01 series with a 100mm inner diameter, resulting in a cost saving of up to 20 per cent. Models with inner diameters of 50 to 300mm are available directly from stock, and are suitable for use in automation technology, sorting systems, control panels, and stage and lighting technology.
The new bearings have demonstrated their long service life in igus’s own 3800m2 test laboratory. The data collected in the tests are incorporated in the iglidur PRT slewing ring configurator, which allows a customer to quickly select the correct bearing as well as calculate the service life in an individual application.
In addition, Treotham offers a wide range of accessories for these slewing ring bearings.
