Australia’s largest ever industry event to be held next year

27-04-2010

The organisers of three of Australia’s major industry events have joined to present their trade shows together in Melbourne in May next year.

The trade shows Ausplas, Austech and National Manufacturing Week (NMW) will take place at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from May 24-27.

Together they will occupy the entire 30,000sqm facility, presenting the largest manufacturing industry trade event ever held in Australia.

The relationship grounded in 2011 will continue at Sydney Showground, Sydney Olympic Park, in 2014 when the Ausplas three year show cycle coincides again with the staging of Austech and NMW.

Ausplas is Australia’s national trade show for the plastics processing industry and has been held every three years since 1987 – the longest established event for the plastics industry in the Southern Hemisphere. It is presented by Exhibition Management Pty Ltd.

Austech is Australia’s premier advanced manufacturing and machine tool exhibition targeting the metalworking, machine tool and ancillary market. It is organised by the Australian Manufacturing Technology Institute Limited.

NMW is Australia’s only fully integrated manufacturing industry exhibition displaying all major aspects across ten specialist product zones. NMW is presented by Reed Exhibitions.

Both Austech and NMW run annually, rotating between Melbourne and Sydney. Ausplas has a three year cycle and has not been held in Sydney since 1990, mainly due to venue service limitations.

Therefore the opportunity for the three to run side by side occurs only every three years. Thus Melbourne 2011 and Sydney 2014.
