7 December 2006: Leading drives solutions group, SEW-EURODRIVE, has ‘re-engineered’ its website at www.sew-eurodrive.com.au, giving the pages a fresh design, clearer layout and even faster and more efficient information retrieval. The site offers ‘single click’ passage to the latest SEW-EURODRIVE news and events, and secure access to ‘just arrived’ software updates, CAD data, and documentation downloads. www.sew-eurodrive.com.au is now fully geared and responsive to the information needs of Australian industries.

The ‘key’ to the new site functionalities is ‘DriveGate’--a secure ‘portal-of-call’ with an easy registration process. ‘DriveGate’ subscribers have privileged entry and access to SEW-EURODRIVE tools, design aids and updates (such as CAD drawings and parts lists) and, through registration, will be notified of enhancements and revisions. The product structure on the website has also been revised to align more closely with strategic product groups, and products are displayed with updated photos to simplify specification and ordering. Registered users can also subscribe to SEW-EURODRIVE’s Australian e-newsletter, DriveNews--packed with product news, local application stories, exhibition previews and industry developments.

A further user benefit of www.sew-eurodrive.com.au is the increased availability of documentation--current and back catalogues--which are now searchable by publication number. In addition, ‘expert search’ features are provided to allow visitors to generate individualised information pages.

According to Matthias Eckerle, SEW-EURODRIVE SAP business operation manager, these website improvements are just the beginning of a host of new functionalities that will be introduced during 2007.

“In the coming months, we will be adding functionalities such as order tracking, which will provide on-line status reports from order placement to delivery,” Eckerle said. “Spare parts will also be searchable and users will have access to unique tools for product selection and project planning.

“Most importantly, because the site content is now managed here in Australia, SEW-EURODRIVE is building an interactive site that establishes a genuine dialogue with Australian users, in a secure environment.”
