Non-slip safety for vision impaired

Tactile indicators are now required by law to all new stairway constructions.

The small coin shape indicators are a warning to the vision impaired that a change in surface level is going to happen.

Tactiles have to be located at the bottom and top of stairways and ramps.

Floorsafe International, a manufacturer and supplier of anti-slip safety products, has now released a new rubber tactile mat for this purpose.

Manufactured to meet Australian Standards Tacpad 72, the silicone rubber pad 300mm x 600mm is available in black, yellow and grey.

The company also supplies 316 stainless steel tactile indicators in flat coin shape for use on ceramic tiles and other hard floor surfaces.
