New Okura robot has all the right moves

Okura of Japan has upgraded the model A1600 robot to a higher rate performance. The new A1800 ultra high speed 4-axis robot, from material handling experts Kockums Bulk Systems, is capable of 1800 cycles per hour.

This robot series is purpose designed for palletising and de-palletising operations.

It has a touch screen with extremely user-friendly OXPA windows based software, allowing an operator to easily redevelop pallet configurations when a new size bag is required to be palletised.

At exhibitions visitors are amazed at the friendliness of this software for use with a robot.

This model follows the advantages of the A1600 series, having high load capacity with a wide operation range. It is possible to palletise to 6 pallet positions around the base, because of its full 360° movement.

The robot has a repeated stop position accuracy of plus/minus 1mm.

It is environmentally friendly being energy efficient and with a low noise level and long periods of operation between service.

This latest technology upgrade, has reduced the mass of the robot arm and in the process, the rigidity has been improved.

With a maximum load capacity of 140kg, ease of programming, long service life and combined with its high operating speed makes the choice of this model very attractive.

Common applications for the Okura robots are for boxes, crates and sacks.

Kockums specialise in automated sack handling systems with conveyors, pallet feeders, stretch wrappers or hooders.

Such systems include the supply of the sack filling devices for FFS, open mouth or valve type bags.

Kockums have a highly trained service team for installation and care of the equipment ensuring the client has maximum utilisation.
