New Aussie Scud

Australian Pump Industries, Australia’s leading manufacturer of high pressure water blasters has launched a new series of machines and accessories aimed at the world market.  Called the “Aussie Scud” series, the new system is based on a new range of pressure cleaners and accessories designed to provide more cost effective cleaning solutions, with minimal environmental impact.

“We’ve decided to challenge the ‘big boys’ with this revolutionary machine.  We call it the Scud System because it’s not just a machine, but a complete cleaning package. It’s designed to get the job done faster, more economically, and in the ‘greenest’ way possible,” said Development Engineer Adrian Fiatarone.  “The Scud System represents a state of the art cleaning program that our engineers have developed over the last 15 years,” he said.

Designed for tough, continuous cleaning applications, the Scud series represents a heavy duty range of professional pressure cleaners designed for contracting, construction, public utility, and for other similar heavy duty applications.

The heart of the machine is a “Big Berty” Bertolini triplex piston pump powered by popular Honda industrial petrol engines with either recoil or electric start options.

“We chose the new Honda GX series engines because of their increased torque, 3 year extended warranty, and lower emissions,” said Fiatarone.

The new Aussie Scuds produce more pressure, combined with less flow, in order to get cleaning tasks done faster with less water. This means the system saves man hours, fuel and machine wear and tear.

The machine’s standard equipment includes a recently developed Aussie “soft start” unloader that releases pressure in the hose when the trigger gun is closed.  That makes the hose lighter to move reducing operator fatigue.  Hose abrasion, a major maintenance issue for this type of equipment, is minimised.

The operator wins again with the new Aussie Pulsar unloader because there’s no kickback when releasing the gun’s trigger.  That reduces stress on the pump, the gearbox, and the operator!

“The new Aussie Pulsar unloader is a real revolution in pressure cleaner design” said Fiatarone.  “Those extra benefits reduce stress in the whole hydraulic system extending life and cutting maintenance costs,” he said.

The Scud series features an ergonomic, galvanised steel frame that incorporates loads of design features that provide a combination of protection for the machine and it’s key components.  The frame is finely balanced enabling operators to move the machine easily on site.  Easy access for routine pump and engine maintenance, and integrated features make the blaster easy to store and mount accessories.

“We called it the smart frame when we first started developing this system,” said Fiatarone.  “We then nicknamed it the Scud when we saw the way it was turning into a sleek, functional design.  People just like the way it looks!” he said.

The manufacturers claim that although the machine looks pretty, it’s designed for the toughest applications.  It comes with 4 big 13” steel wheels with big, rough terrain tyres.  The machine looks like a cross between a Ferrari and a Bobcat!

Australian Pump called it a system because the machine is only the beginning of the program.  A complete range of labour saving devices that make the operator’s life easier, get jobs accomplished faster, and provide better cleaning results are all part of the package.  They include flat surface cleaners, easy mount high pressure reel kits that enable the stowage of up to 50 metres of high pressure hose, and top quality turbo lances designed to improve the machine’s “whack”.

Australian Pump is proud of being able to put a product like this on the world market, designed to challenge industry in Europe and America, at a competitive price.  The Company claims to have doubled it’s production of pressure cleaners in the last year, with subsequent cost savings.  Those savings are going into product improvements that mean consumers pay no more for the new Scud system!

A free information package on the Scud system, including the accessories, is available from Australian Pump Industries and from Aussie Pump Distributors throughout Australia.
