Flexilift launches new training program for forklift operators

With pressure rising on industrial employers to ensure staff has all the necessary OH&S knowledge, Flexilift Australia has brought to the market its own accredited training course in forklift operations

The Melbourne based company – which recently gained the exclusive distribution licence for Hyundai forklifts throughout Australia – has qualified instructors that ensure operators are trained and licensed within national WorkSafe standards.

Flexilift’s forklift trainers can tailor a package for refresher or novice training. Flexilift’s fully accredited trainers and assessors will train beginners through to experienced forklift license levels at one of its locations around Australia.

For most aspects of training, companies that send staff can access a government based business incentive available to offset forklift training costs.

Sales and marketing manager for Flexilift, John Fisher, says employers should be aware of their obligations under the national WorkSafe standards or face mandatory penalties.

“Penalties in the form of fines are one of the concerns, but what business owners should focus on is the imperative for its personnel to be properly trained,” said Mr Fisher.

Course components include:

Workplace Health and Safety

Forklift usage

Pre-safety forklift checks

Safe forklift driving checks

Pre-exam preparation (theory and practical)

All trainers hold a current Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety. They are also accredited Certificate Assessors for their prescribed occupation.

There are no formal entrance requirements, however, applicants must have a basic knowledge of English.
