“The Tsurumi KTV series submersible slurry pumps are designed with key features that extend performance and operational life.”
A compact, portable submersible pump with a powerful agitator for draining slurry and pumping sediment is now available from Australian Pump. The product is made by the world’s leading submersible pump manufacturer Tsurumi, and is aimed at the concrete mixing and batch plant market.
The pumps are designed to pump sand laden water and also aid in the reclamation of materials from unused concrete at batch plants. The KTV slurry pumps offer capacities of up to 420 litres per minute flow, and heads as high as 22 metres. The series includes both 50mm (2”) and 80mm (3”) discharges.
“Tsurumi have a world class reputation for making reliable slurry pumps, and a breakdown is the last thing needed is this highly competitive industry,” said Aussie Pumps’ Craig Bridgement. “With over a million Tsurumi pumps produced, batch plants across North America and Europe have already adopted this proven pump.”
The KTV series are fitted with 3 phase, 2 pole high efficiency motors with thermal and amperage protection against dry running or overloading.
Tsurumi Pump developed the product range to fill a need for compact, portable pumps that is robust enough to be used in arduous applications like cement production. Features include a newly developed double mechanical seal with both top and bottom silicon carbide seal faces running in an oil filled chamber for extended life.
The mechanical seal also features a unique “Oil Lifter” developed to enhance seal performance. The unique design of the mechanical seal enables the “Lifter” to oil the top seal faces, even if the lubricant level drops below manufacturer’s recommendations. The lubrication cools the seal faces, providing longer life, and reducing wear.
The Tsurumi KTV slurry pump range features a high capacity semi open style impeller to minimise the risk of impeller block at start up. The impeller is made from high chrome cast iron for wear resistance, and the casing is synthetic rubber. The shaft seal is a double design, silicon carbide, whilst the pump shaft is 420 grade stainless steel.
Standard equipment includes heavy duty 8 metre cable to Tsurumi’s unique anti wicking block. The anti wicking block prevents the ingress of water into the motor even if the cable is damaged or worn. It is a feature that makes Tsurumi pumps stand out from others in the market.
“The popular KTV series is expected to be of real interest to the cement batch plants, particularly for concrete waste re-cycling,” said Bridgement. “It compliments our heavy duty KRS series cast iron slurry pumps already in use across Australia,” he said.
Australian Pump also offer a huge range of other Tsurumi submersible pumps including stainless steel dewatering pumps, cutter and grinder pumps and extremely heavy duty sand pumps with chromium iron wearing parts.
