Bioplastics on show at AUSPACK PLUS 2011
The Bioplastics Pavilion will again be a key feature of Australia’s premier multi-platform packaging exhibition, AUSPACK PLUS, to be held next year.
With the plastics area growing each year at the exhibition, the pavilion allows industry experts to come together under one roof to help visitors understand bioplastics.
The Bioplastics Pavilion comprises members of the Australasian Bioplastics Association (ABA) – the representative body for the bioplastics industry in Australia and NZ as European Bioplastics is in Europe and BPI in the US.
The ABA is key for development of standards for recognition of this class of materials.
The leading Bioplastics companies that will be exhibiting on the pavilion are: Amcor, BASF Australia, BioBag Australasia, BIOPAK, Cardia BioPlastics, Innovia Films, Nature Works LLC and Plantic Technologies.
According to Mr Rob Keen, Event Director, AUSPACK PLUS, the packaging industry is increasingly being asked to use products that have a renewable resource component and are biodegradable and compostable.
“The bioplastics industry has developed rapidly in recent years, says Mr Keen.
“Companies are expanding their production capacities and product offerings. The AUSPACK PLUS Bioplastics Pavilion will enable members of the industry to see an extensive range of products and technologies that are available in Australia.”
AUSPACK PLUS is owned and presented by the Australian Packaging and Processing Machinery Association, Australia’s only national packaging and processing machinery organisation.
AUSPACK PLUS will be held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from March 22-25 next year.
